welcome to Y7 drama

In this unit, you will be introduced to the basic skills of Drama. You will learn about still image, mime, energy levels, role play and improvisation.

In this unit, you will tell the story of children evacuated in the Second World War. You will learn to play different characters and use different Drama strategies to rehearse and perform different scenes.

In this final unit of Year 7, you will study the story of Theseus and the Minotaur and use the skills you have learnt throughout the year to produce a performance. This will include scripted and improvised work, characterisation and physical theatre.

In this second unit, you will learn about physical theatre which is often abstract movement and mime, involving music and expression. You will need to apply what you learnt in Basic Skills, about energy levels and still images to extended pieces of theatre.

In unit 3, you will learn about characterisation and the elements that make up a dramatic interpretation of a story. To prepare for this unit, think about a great personal story that happened to you, and event or experience or something exciting.
